I stumbled upon my old hard drive and decided to rework this session I did with Giselle & Stephen from The Lover’s Passport a few years ago! If you haven’t heard of them, you’re missing out – they’re pretty much the coolest adventurers you’ll ever meet! We planned to meet up in Death Valley in the middle of January for some couples portraits & of course, epic hiking.

Believe it or not, meeting couples for a sunrise photoshoot is probably one of my favorite times of day. We hit the road when the roosters were still asleep, all to chase that perfect morning light on the salt flats. And, let me tell you – it was worth every missed minute of sleep. The sun did its thing, casting this warm & pink, golden glow over everything and it was like we’d stepped into another world. A photographer’s dream, really.

With my camera’s memory cards getting a decent workout at the Salt Flats, we decided to take a breather and switch gears for a bit. Time for some hiking! And not just any hike – a full-day, dive-into-the-wilderness kind day of hiking through the stunning vistas of Death Valley. I mean, the place is like Mother Nature’s masterpiece, with these towering rocks and deep canyons that make you feel all tiny and awestruck.

By the time the afternoon rolled around, I’m not gonna lie – we were feeling it. But there’s no rest for the wicked, right? We had one last stop for some golden hour sunset photos: the sand dunes. And oh boy, did we time it right. The sun dipped low, bathing the dunes in this surreal, golden light that made everything look like it was straight out of a fairy tale.

What a day, right? Adventure, laughs, and a camera roll filled to the brim with gorgeous shots. As an adventure lover myself, getting to explore new spots with rad people like Giselle and Stephen is the cherry on top of my photography sundae.

If you’re on the hunt for someone to capture your destination wedding, adventure elopement or if you just want some epic engagement photos to remember your Death Valley adventures, reach out to us today! I’m always down for a good road trip. Let’s make some memories that’ll last longer than my love for coffee (and trust me, that’s saying something).

Whitney

My heart and passion for this work is summed up by the act of service. From the first wedding I ever photographed to ones years later—I’ve yet to come down from the high of being part of a couple’s best day and putting it in digital form to look back on for a lifetime. I take my craft seriously, and that means serving you in all aspects on your wedding day, and the days leading up to it.

Santa Barbara courthouse elopement photographed by Wild Love & Wanderlust

Weddings

May of 2024, I had the incredible pleasure of photographing Sarah and Richie’s intimate elopement at the historic Santa Barbara Courthouse. This beautiful venue, nestled in one of my all-time favorite cities, provided the perfect setting for their love story. With its Spanish-Moorish architecture and lush gardens, the Santa Barbara Courthouse is a stunning backdrop […]
