Santorini Destination Wedding at El Viento

As a destination wedding photographer, I’ve been blessed to witness love stories unfold in some of the most breathtaking locations around the world. Yet, there’s something uniquely enchanting about Santorini, Greece. This May, I had the privilege of capturing Marissa and Scotty’s intimate Santorini destination wedding at the exquisite El Viento venue, a day that was nothing short of a Grecian fairy tale.

The Journey to Santorini

My adventure began a few days prior to the wedding, accompanied by my four-month-old son, husband, and mom. It was our third visit to both Greece and the island of Santorini, and each time, the island reveals new layers of its mesmerizing beauty. The vibrant blues of the sea, the iconic whitewashed buildings, and the warmth of the Greek sun – it’s a photographer’s paradise.

Exploring the Island’s Charms

On the wedding day, I embarked on a photographic journey with Marissa and Scotty, exploring some of Santorini’s hidden gems for their bridal portraits. The island, with its stunning landscapes and timeless architecture, provided the perfect canvas for their love story. Each photo captured the essence of their bond, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Aegean Sea.

A Ceremony at El Viento

As the day progressed, we arrived at El Viento, a venue that perfectly encapsulates the essence of Santorini. The ceremony was intimate, with only family and close friends, creating an atmosphere of warmth and love. The setting, perched atop a cliff with panoramic views of the sea, was like stepping into a dream.

The festivities continued the day after with a private catamaran tour at sunset for the entire wedding party. It was an exhilarating experience to photograph and participate in this joyous occasion simultaneously. The sea’s calming presence and the camaraderie of the group made it an unforgettable experience.
