Whitney here from Wild Love & Wanderlust, ready to dive deep into the world of wedding photography, specifically what some may see as wedding photography dealbreakers, and bust some myths that might be clouding your decision-making process. I know, I know—choosing a photographer for your special day is no small feat, but trust me, some of the things you’re stressing about? They really don’t need to be deal breakers.

  1. The Preferred Vendor Predicament: So the venue you’ve fallen head over heels for has a list of “preferred vendors,” and, well, I’m not on it. Panic time? Absolutely not! Here’s the scoop: while it’s great to have a tried-and-tested list of vendors, it shouldn’t be the end-all-be-all. I thrive on exploring new spaces, finding unique angles, and making each wedding look like the one-of-a-kind love story that it is. Not being on a list? That’s just more fuel to my creative fire.
  2. Venue Virginity: Okay, so I haven’t shot at your specific venue before. And? Here’s a little secret: that’s actually a good thing! With fresh eyes comes fresh perspective. I won’t be recreating the same shots I’ve done a hundred times; I’ll be creating something utterly unique to you. Plus, I always do my homework—scouting, research, you name it. I come prepared to make magic, no matter the location.
  3. Geographical Challenges: I might not be a local, but honey, I’ve got wanderlust in my veins and a passport ready to go at a moment’s notice. The beauty of choosing a photographer who’s not from your area is that you get images infused with a sense of adventure and wonder. Plus, I have a knack for making any place feel like home—and making you feel like we’re old friends, no matter where we are in the world.

Now, I get it. These things might seem like big deal breakers at first glance. But here’s the thing: at the end of the day, it’s about the connection we have, the trust you put in me, and the magic we create together. Don’t let lists, locations, logistics, or these common wedding photography dealbreakers hold you back from finding the perfect person to capture your love story.

Because when the flowers have wilted and the confetti has settled, the photos are what last. Let’s make them epic, shall we?
