The towering redwoods at Henry Cowell in Santa Cruz have this way of making everything feel rooted and whimsical, which was the perfect backdrop for Peter and Raveena’s engagement session. As a luxury wedding photographer in the San Francisco Bay Area, I’ve seen these groves more times than I can count, but every couple brings a unique energy that completely shifts the atmosphere of the forest.
What made this session so special to me was how Peter and Raveena chose to honor their heritages right from the start. We began their engagement session with Raveena in a stunning black traditional Indian outfit. The intricate details of her attire against the deep greens and earthy browns of the redwoods created this moody, high-fashion editorial feel that I’m still obsessed with. It was the perfect blend of tradition meeting the raw beauty of Northern California.
Midway through the session, she switched into a gorgeous, bold red Vietnamese traditional outfit for the second half of our time together. Seeing that pop of crimson against the ancient bark of the redwoods was nothing short of cinematic. I absolutely love when my couples incorporate their cultures into both their wedding and engagement photos. It adds such a deep layer of storytelling and personality to the gallery that you just can’t get from a standard wardrobe.
This session was really just a beautiful warm-up for what’s to come. I am beyond excited to be documenting their four-day Indian wedding celebration this coming fall. Multi-day weddings are such a marathon of joy, and I’m already counting down the days until I’m back behind the lens for the main event.
As a photographer based in the Bay Area, I want every couple to know that all cultures and all love stories are welcome here. My goal is always to create a space where you feel seen and celebrated while we capture those culturally-rich moments that will live on for generations. Whether you’re planning a massive multi-day gala or something intimate in the trees, I can’t wait to help you tell your story.

My heart and passion for this work is summed up by the act of service. From the first wedding I ever photographed to ones years later—I’ve yet to come down from the high of being part of a couple’s best day and putting it in digital form to look back on for a lifetime. I take my craft seriously, and that means serving you in all aspects on your wedding day, and the days leading up to it.

There’s nothing quite like springtime in San Jose. For a few magical months, the rolling hills of Silicon Valley transform into a vibrant, almost surreal shade of green—lush, alive, and full of promise. It’s hands-down my favorite time of year to shoot, and if you’ve ever driven through the foothills in March or April, you […]
