Cozy San Diego Beach Day

Destination Wedding at Acre Resort

When Erica and Derek chose Kingdom of the Hawk in Stonington, CT, for their wedding, they knew they wanted a celebration that was more than just a day—it was a weekend filled with love, laughter, and memories to last a lifetime. As a destination wedding photographer, I know how important it is to not just show up on the wedding day but to immerse myself in the experience from the start, which is why I traveled in advance to make sure I was there with plenty of time to catch every special moment.

From the Rehearsal Dinner to the Big Day

The weekend kicked off with their rehearsal dinner at Dog Watch Cafe in Mystic, a cozy local brewery that set the perfect tone for the days ahead. I always find it so valuable to document these moments before the big day—the laughter, the hugs, and the stories that make up the foundation of a couple’s journey. It was a great way to ease into the weekend, getting to know their loved ones and the vibe of the celebration before the big “I dos.”

As a destination wedding photographer, I take pride in arriving early for my couples’ weddings. It’s not just about capturing the ceremony and reception, it’s about being present for every moment that leads up to it. From the nerves and excitement of getting ready to the quiet moments between the couple, I’m there for it all.

Capturing Every Moment of the Wedding Weekend

Erica and Derek’s wedding day at Kingdom of the Hawk was an absolute dream. With the weekend already filled with memories, the ceremony was the perfect culmination. The venue itself—lush, intimate, and completely stunning—set the stage for a day filled with heartfelt moments and joyful celebrations. As the day unfolded, I had the honor of documenting everything from the emotional vows to the laughter and dancing at the reception.

Being able to spend an entire weekend with a couple means I get to capture more than just the posed portraits. I’m there to document the moments that might otherwise be missed—the quick glances, the shared laughter, and the love that fills every corner of the weekend.

Let’s Make Your Wedding Weekend Unforgettable

If you’re planning a destination wedding and want a photographer who will be there every step of the way, ensuring no moment is missed, I’d love to chat. Whether it’s a whole weekend celebration or a single unforgettable day, I’m here to capture the magic.
