Wies & Vincent came all the way from the Netherlands to embark on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure and have me document this season of their life. As a Zion elopement photographer, it is places and couples and elopements like these that make me realize the immense privilege it is that this is my job. Wies & Vincent planned a month-long road trip across the US to explore breathtaking national parks as a way to celebrate their new union, a honeymoon if you will.
I flew to Vegas and drove to Zion a few days before the elopement to ensure no bumps in the road with travel and allow myself to settle in and enjoy the park myself. On the day of their elopement, we met at Under Canvas in Zion, a stunning location that created the most incredible backdrop for their wedding day preparations. The excitement was palpable as we discussed the upcoming day, the emotions running high in anticipation of their heartfelt ceremony. Wies’ hair was done by Lund Hair Co & makeup completed by Yesi Beauti, both of who were SO sweet and I’d highly recommend to Utah brides.
On the day of their elopement, the air was crisp and filled with the scent of adventure. Wies and Vincent got ready in the comfort of Under Canvas, surrounded by nature’s beauty as you’ll see in the photos below. Their energy was infectious, and it was evident that their love was pure and profound.
Our first stop was a picturesque picnic where Maria from Make A Scene had outdone herself. The tables were adorned with luxury picnic decor, and the spread of mouthwatering food left us in awe. It was a true feast for both the eyes and the taste buds. The atmosphere was filled with joy and laughter as they enjoyed this decadent moment together.
After indulging in the culinary delights, the three of us made our way into the heart of Zion National Park for their ceremony. The natural grandeur of the park perfectly mirrored the significance of the moment. As they exchanged vows and rings, the raw emotions echoed through the canyons, reminding us of the power of love. It was a privilege to witness and capture their intimate exchange, one that I will cherish forever.
With the ceremony concluded, the newlyweds couldn’t contain their excitement and popped open a bottle of champagne to celebrate. We embraced the golden hour and ventured around to different views, capturing their love amidst the different Zion landscapes. The setting sun was quickly covered by deep, moody clouds that proved to be absolutely gorgeous against the red rock.
To conclude this unforgettable day, we shared a cozy and delicious pizza dinner. The laughs continued, and the smiles grew even wider, reflecting the genuine happiness from the adventures of their wedding day. The evening was filled with warmth and camaraderie, solidifying the bond that had formed throughout the day.
The time spent with Wies and Vincent was a reminder of why I love being a wedding photographer. Their love and kindness touched my heart, and I left Zion National Park with a sense of fulfillment and gratitude. As a Utah wedding photographer and a lover of Zion National Park, this elopement epitomized the beauty that can be found in nature’s embrace.
I can’t wait for the day when our paths cross again, perhaps in their corner of the world. The memories we created together will forever be etched in my mind, and I am thankful for the opportunity to be a part of their extraordinary love story. Until we meet again, Wies and Vincent, may your love continue to flourish and your adventures never cease.
